What do you like best?
The OCR accuracy is great and it's very easy to use.
What do you dislike?
The "text editing" area could be more flexible. Sometimes it's hard to get things looking the way you want as far as layout.

We use ABBYY FineReader PDF 15 for OCR in a very busy disability services office. Students benefit greatly from how quick and easy it is to use, and we can turn around accessible books much faster than with other products we've tried.

It does a great job at OCR and I am able to easily change PDFs to text documents.
What do you dislike?
I do not dislike any part of it. It is amazing.

It makes the process of braille translation so much easier. I highly recommend it.

I use Fine reader to change documents to txt documents. This allows me to easily create braille documents for students.

Currently I manage a team that must convert documents and in addition to that generate reports of this, thanks to Abbyy this work is simpler and extremely fast and complete at all times.
What do you like best?
Thanks to abbyy I can convert my files with the scanner, it is a non-portable program with which you scan a document and you already have its edition available, with many of the tools offered by office and even more accessories.
What do you dislike?
I really feel that it has fault with the sellers, we were never able to buy directly from abbyy's suppliers, only from third parties, because it was really difficult and complicated.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is my favorite document scanner, I honestly do not complain, it is incredible and fabulous, it has some defects, such as that it does not get along when converting images, but it is not a serious problem, its strength is words, and in this not has whoever beats him currently.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
In the office, it currently gives us the security and satisfaction of always working, the support team is attentive and eager to study our problems and solve them, it is a gift that they are always so attentive.

"FineReader saves me a lot of time in extracting data and assembling documents"
What do you like best?
As an engineer I often need to extract data from tables found in books and even magazines. FineReader will accurately extract the data from a scan of the table, saving me a tremendous amount of time in putting them into an excel spreadsheet. Additionally, I write a lot of test protocols and reports that require assembling documents from word, excel and other formats. FineReader makes it very easy to do.
What do you dislike?
I don't really have anything I dislike. FineReader does what I need it to do and it makes it easy.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I have had no problems with FineReader. The benefits for me are the extraction of data from scanned documents, as described above.
