Bottom tier customer service and slow issue resolution
I've filed a complaint with the BBB but I'm also warning users on TrustPilot. I participated in the refer 3 people, get $600 promotion and signed up 4 referrals, 3 of which completed the terms of the agreement. However, Acorns is claiming only 2 have completed the terms, but the last person they're saying didn't complete was my mother (who lives with me) who I personally helped through the sign up process and know for a fact her account is verified, funded and her funds actively invested. On my end, she shows as "Pending" while on her end her account looks normal and active. We have both contacted support on our accounts via chat only to be ultimately told to have the other party contact support (the run around). This run around game lasted for at least 3 attempts by both of us before we both gave up and I contacted support by email. Email support has been equally inept only providing pre-written responses outlining the terms of the agreement which isn't useful since I already know the terms and my point is the terms have been upheld but the account status is showing incorrect on my end. I've emailed them screenshots of both accounts as proof only to receive the same blanket / generic statements from support in response. After my last attempt to reason with support and have them take a closer look I decided to take the issue to the BBB to both warn other consumers and hopefully light a fire under someone who can resolve this issue in a competent and timely manner.

You will lose out on money if your not very diligent
I started using Acorns to help me invest. However, overall feel like I was robbed because I actually was losing money. I had chosen to do the round-up option where Acorn rounds up all of my transactions to the nearest dollar to invest. It sounds great except, every single time I checked the app my accounts always needed to be reconnected. Which I did, but somehow it would always disconnect after I close the app which meant I was spending $1 a month for no reason. Which for me personally may not be a lot, but if this company is doing this to millions of people, the company is scamming us all out of money for profit. Then when Acorns decided to get even greedier and up the subscription up to $3. I decided to close my account. Or so I thought. It closed my "investing account" which I assumed was just my account, because you know Acorns is meant to invest your money, but nope. It is separate and they got a few more months before I noticed- Which again may not be a lot for me personally, but again I am sure this is happening to others. Now you may say that this is all my fault for not paying attention. However for reference Navient (a student loan company) just settled a suit against them claiming they made it difficult for people to pay back their loans. Though this is a much smaller scale it's the same idea of a company making it difficult to cancel a subscription to continue making money.

Do not use this so called investment company. You will lose money guaranteed. They will take any dividends you might gain for themselves and leave you in the hole. Not to mention after canceling my subscription they still took out money from my bank account without permission.
