"Scalable, Stable and Easy to use Search Engine"
What do you like best?
Ease of using and setup. We can get up and running in 1-2 days for a simple use case. Building on that is simple and straightforward.
Good admin UI to watch the system metrics and delta indexing process which runs at a preset interval.
What do you dislike?
There is nothing specific that I don't like about Solr.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1. Quick learning curve
2. Easy to code on the client-side.
3. Easy to set up and can be up and running in 1-2 days for simple use cases.
4. Its open source and free to use.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Large set user activities data feeds. We index this data in Solr and show them on the activities page.

What do you like best?
I had personally used Apache Solr in the enterprise web application development which is basically written in java. Besides that, the Apache Solr is also written in java. It is very easy to use and very easy to understand. The main features provided by the Apache Solr, for example, full-text search, real-time indexing, dynamic clustering, database integration, rich document handling and, NoSQL features.
What do you dislike?
The Apache Solr is an average tool use for document indexing, which can be used for searching and data retrieval. But, I would like to suggest some areas of improvement needed in this tool, for example, solr tool is a bit complex. The naive user facing difficulties in understanding the basics of this tool and also hard to implement in other computer languages. support is very slow.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend other please use elastic search. if you want faster deployment, ready to live with a lesser grain of control.

What do you like best?
synonyms, infecing, delta query , document sharding plus the schema with regular expressions gives a fantastic edge for representing search data .clustering is great.
What do you dislike?
not happy that there is no inbuilt javascript library or a datagrid that can interface with solr and search say around 10 million records. solr is for faster retrival, something on the lines of datatable js library would help.this grid shoukd be available as a plugin.
