What are the best aspects of this product?

It helps us from the time we decide to plan for an upcoming project to when we execute it. With Jira we are able to get all the requirements of the project and put them in Jira before we can begin the development process. This saves the time and effort as we are able to track all those requirements during the developmental life cycle of the project. The scrum board feature is what makes everything look simple from the start to finish. We are able to know which requirements or tasks are a priority and complete them first before we attend to others. Clients and project managers can oversee the projects’ development and comment on the same or point out the issues from the same platform. The reporting feature also works fine to help know the status of the project.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

There is problem with how difficult the tool is to use. It has a steep learning curve which means that you will need a form of training to explore all the features. This could be because it has a lot of feature to digest and thus getting to know each and every one of them can be a tough thing to do. Due to this, some people may opt for another tool with fewer and simpler features to deal with. The design of Jira is not as attractive as I would expect and thus it could be improved in more ways to make it presentable and smooth in terms of operation. Some of the features are also not that intuitive.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We were able to manage the bugs, tasks, project team and clients in a better way. The whole process is effortless and thus we can concentrate on the project’s main requirements and objectives during the development life cycle. For the project managers, they are able to know which tasks are pending and assign them to team members who are idle. It helps to increase the visibility of the project and thus help managers run those projects without delays and in a smooth way. This saves time and effort as customers can get what they want. For the case of software developers, they can manage clients’ needs using Jira through the reporting feature. Ticketing is automated to make the work easier and such bugs are addressed in time.

What are the best aspects of this product?

It is what you need if you are managing any project. It has everything you need from the tracking functionality to how well you can integrate with other tools that offer similar functions. It is able to work hand in hand with applications that are related to development. This form of integration means that you have a complete tool for tracking and managing your projects. Whatever feature is missing, you can find a third party application that offers such feature and integrate it with Jira. It is also well documented which means you will be able to know how it works without the need to train.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It only works when you are connected to the internet. This can be an issue especially where there is no internet connection. You need to be able to check the progress and status of your projects regardless of where you are or whether you are connected to the internet or not. At the moment, this tool does not offer such luxury to users or project managers. It would be better if there was a way to view your projects without having to connect to the internet. All in all, it is a top project management and tracking tool in the market.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Managing a project team and the project itself is not easy. You have to be on top of tings if you want the project to be successful. Jira has come in handy to help me with this. I am able to track and manage what the team is doing and how each member of the team is doing on the tasks they have been assigned. In short, you have control of how each team member is dong on the project and how issues are being handled as you move forward. The fact that it can integrate with other developmental tools makes it easy to manage projects at any level. This has come to solve many issues on my part.

What are the best aspects of this product?

JIRA excels in so many ways. It gives us with a centralized platform from where we can manage everything, including tasks, issues, bugs, stories, etc. The integration with BitBucket is also worth noting. The plugins and the very helpful community is a plus too.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

JIRA doesn't have an attractive interface. It looks like it was created decades ago.

What are the best aspects of this product?

I am able to manage multiple projects thanks to Jira. It has a reliable platform through which you can track tickets as they come and assign them to individuals within a team. Jira makes your projects look attractive in terms of execution. You are able to stay on track with where each of the development cycle is heading and which tickets are being taken care of. Previously, I utilized Jira in managing a digital creative team. However, it can also be used for software development projects to help manage tasks, teams and issues or bugs that come up during the process. It helps automate the complex tasks in a project thereby making it easy for you to manage multiple projects without much hustle.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

Although it is mobile compatible, it does not offer similar user experience as when you are using it on your PC. Since I travel a lot, I am always on the move and thus whenever I need to check in on a project or interact with a ticket, it is difficult to do so with ease. It would be nice if the developers of this tool could include a robust mobile version of the product to help users receive the same experience as of when they are using it on their PCs. This would help me to manage and track tasks and bugs while still on the move and thus efficient.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

It has contributed to the growth of our business. I work in a software development company and developing applications is what we do for our clients. When it comes to managing a project through its development life cycle, Jira comes into play to help us develop better applications. Also we are able to do all this within a short period and thus develop more applications for our customers. It is essential to keep track of the requirements of our customers and implement them during the life cycle of the project.
