What are the best aspects of this product?

Looker makes it easy for us to get tons of information out from our app, which contains lots of tables. We don't have to run anything. I love how LookML makes data manipulation and field creation a quick and painless process. It even makes it feel natural than me creating gross giant SQL queries by hand all the time.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

Prior to working with Looker, I used to be an Excel-based analyst. With that experience, I can say Looker is a great applicaiton in terms tandardization and working off of a main model. However, I get frustrated when I can't the summary information if I won't build the logic into LookML.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Looker allows us to view our information without having to get the expertise of data engineers.

What are the best aspects of this product?

Looker gives you absolute control over your data and allows the democratization of data exploration and analysis. There are tools that I have checked previously that offer the same level of visibility but none of the offer the amount of control that Looker offers its users.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

While Looker gives you total control, there is a catch: LookML. It may be easy to learn and is immensely useful, it can be complicated at times and costly too because maintenance cost as data models change.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Looker enables us to make our tons of data visible to several business owners. The platform helps us come to smarter, data-based decisions.

What are the best aspects of this product?

I love how I get to see the LookML for all the measures. This lets me verify that the calculations are done correctly. A majority of the procedures that we run are only understood by very few people. It's a big boost for me to ensure that we're making an accurate representation of our metrics.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

There are certain navigational things that hasn't worked out in my favor. For instance, when I start working in Look, I would suddenly realize that I want it saved. Thing is, I don't want to overwrite the current Look I have. I still haven't figured out as to how I can "Save As" in that instance.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Getting the data democratized. Even those who don't have a clue as to how SQL or advanced data science skills can come up with easy to intricate reports. In addition, it can be utilized for keeping track of business progress against KPI's for members of the executive team.

What are the best aspects of this product?

It's really easy to use. Their customer support is amazing. It's actually one of those things that stand out most. Being an experienced developer, it's important to have a person to communicate with you right away. That way, you can save both time and patience. For the end user, it does a great job getting data insights.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

There's nothing much to hate. Although there are some tiny inconveniences that I experienced along the way. One of them involves browsing documentation between the forums and the platform. Other than that, nothing else really.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Looker was able to assist us in eradicating the data breadline. It gave users the data they need without having to depend on someone else to give it to them. It allowed us to disseminate data as well as data usage to users. We were able to scatter them at a company level so anyone can gain insights from the data received.

What are the best aspects of this product?

I love the fact that Looker consistently tries to challenge to go further into data. It's very simple to use. I felt like this is an awesome tool for doing data analytics. If you use it intelligently, it can be a help boost your business as well your performance.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

I hate how it doesn't offer me a lot of variables. You'll need to make a request just so you can get the ones you need and get things done. I feel like each user deserves to implement whatever variable is needed to accomplish things.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

I'm currently doing a lot of data analysis. The tool helped me immensely as it made me do better at my job. I came to a realization that Looker is a tool where you can explore and learn many things. You do that by going through mistakes and doing what's right.
