DECEITFUL PRICING, RUDE STAFF, EXORBITANT FEES -- RUN AWAY!! --

I have been with SimplePractice since 2019. They sent an email out in January of 2021 that they were practically DOUBLING their rates (mine went up almost 200%), then within less than two months, the exorbitant prices went live or you were LOCKED OUT of YOUR CLIENT INFO. It was YOUR info, not theirs...and they locked you out, as if they owned it. Disgusting!!Then they kept giving the users this nonsense line of "we carefully selected items in each of the three tiers and decided what practitioners would need as their practice got bigger." They put "Calendar Sync" in the MOST EXPENSIVE TIER. So if you want to use a calendar, you have to pay OVER $100.00 PER MONTH (with billing, it could be a lot higher too!). Just be honest and tell us that you put a VERY BASIC AMENITY (calendar sync) in the MOST EXPENSIVE TIER to maximize profits at the expense of the customer. Just tell us the truth. We already can see it plainly. Your corporate make-believe of "we carefully tailored each tier" is obviously nonsense. Add to that they require practitioners to call the VERY LIMITED phone support THEMSELVES. If anyone else calls, they will require that person to be a Practice Manager to talk to phone support...and (of course) adding a Practice Manager costs ANOTHER $480.00 PER YEAR. There are HUNDREDS, if not THOUSANDS, of complaints about bugs, billing errors, and various issues on their internal message boards. They say, "Let us know what you think" and "ask a question", but if you express any dislike or discontent or question their lack of logic about putting basic amenities in the most expensive tier, they delete replies to your post and lock the post down so that the community of SimplePractice users cannot discuss the problems and find solutions.I will completely skip telling you about the chaotic workflow design, the billing problems, the constant "extra forms" they need filled out to perform simple changes, the incredibly rude and unhelpful customer service staff, and their "packaging". By packaging, I mean they say "oh this tier is totally full of stuff"....yes, stuff I don't need and have begged to get rid of...some random listing called monarch that I don't want. a second website through simple practice...no thanks I already have a site...oh I have to pay for it anyways? ok....I don't need these treatment plan templates....oh I have to pay for those too whether I like it or not? well ok....and I could go on and on.I cannot count how many times I have recommended them to other practitioners. I don't know what happened. It breaks my heart that a great company is no more, replaced by a giant greed-filled corporate monster. I will ensure every single practitioner knows about the heartless corporate monster Simplepractice has now become. Their "60% SATISFACTION RATE" says it all. RIP SimplePractice.

Simplified Private Practice Mostly.Many of the aspects about Simple Practice are great. The EHR aspects are nice and are fairly simple to learn and navigate. My biggest complaint is the calendar. It just is not functional. I can either enter a client appointment or other. There is no calendar sync as many people have mentioned. This would be a nice feature for the midrange or create a more diverse calendar such as adding supervision appointment, personal appointments (eg doctors appointments etc), vacation feature. Also, when I enter an appointment client or other it may be longer than 60 minutes. The block does not represent the amount of time the event or appointment will be. For example a 60 min appointment looks just like a 90 minute appointment. All the blocked out times are the same size no matter the time allotted. Also, it just tells you the start time and not the end time. It would be helpful since there is no calendar sync or add these features and a calendar sync.Other great features are the opportunity for CEUs. Also, there are a lot of free onboarding info sessions that give you a rundown on all the features on Simple Practice such as billing and insurance. They have been helpful. If you need help it is fairly easy to get assistance. So, my biggest complaint is the calendar and I know I am not the only one who takes issue with this feature. So please make some changes.

I've been with SP almost since the beginning and have referred many people to them over the years. Their customer service has always been funky. Not being able to pick up the phone to talk to someone when you need help at that time is really bad. I also had problems a few years ago with secondary insurance claims and finally they admitted to me that they had problems with this (it was Medicare/Medi-Cal). It's one reason I stopped being a Medicare provider. Not being able to have different colors for appointments. But the calendar sync issue with the new pricing structure was it. For me, the money is not the issue. I can afford it. But forcing me to upgrade to a plan is $40 more just to keep a feature they had in their basic plan from the beginning and which is basic to other company's basic plans is really outrageous. Then there's their response to the huge amount of negative feedback they have been receiving. Such poor business practices! I think they assumed that most people would feel it was too much work to change. Unfortunately on Capterra, a major EHR review site, they still have excellent ratings so if you don't read the recent comments, you would think this is a great company. Well, it IS a lot of work to change but it is possible. The company I choose, Jane, has really helpful and timely customer service and is helping me do it. As soon as I can export my SP date, I'm done. If SP had just said we are doing a rate increase on your existing plan maintaining the same services it would have been fine.
