"This is a great Secret Server option"
What do you like best?
Security is the most important for us. Thycotic provides a strong solution for Secret Server, you can have all your critical and non-critical servers providing different levels of access by creating groups based in the Sys Admins you have and the roles they in the organization.
Also, you can document every entry, so for auditing is just great.
What do you dislike?
The only think I don;t like of this tool, is that it makes the processes slow since you have to enter Comments every time you try to log in a server, well, this is the reason why you implement this, look for rise your security levels, but it makes the log in process slow since users have to invest time entering comments for each server on each connection.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Remember this is for security reasons. It will generate some delays in the access to the servers but will provide secure access. Keep it on mind

We are able to provide limited access to users Sys Admins, but due to business reasons, they need to remote a server. With this tool, we can provide that access in limited way, preventing any undesired change in the configuration. The group of users will be able to see available only the servers that we define, so they will reach only the servers they need.

What do you like best?
It is a great mix between simplicity and capability. Alot of systems either don't offer enough, or make it too complicated just to get a password.
What do you dislike?
Some of the automation functions come at a hefty upcharge over the reasonable base rate.

"Great solution if you want to keep your password vaults on-premise."
What do you like best?
I really like that you can completely host a copy of the software internally so you don't have to worry about exposing your passwords to the Internet. We have a self-hosted edition of Thycotic Secret Server (TSS for short) that supports multiple teams and thousands of passwords. It works really well for that scenario and we don't have to worry about our vault being compromised by outside forces.
What do you dislike?
TSS has a Chrome plugin that populates passwords for you, but in order for it to work, you have to be logged into TSS. I would really like it if it worked more like LastPass and cached your passwords for a set number of days and populated them from your Chrome cache. It's annoying to have to log back in every time you want to populate a password (if you haven't done so in more than 15 minutes).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a solid solution, however, I would say please try before you buy. Thycotic gives a very generous free version of this product that would work really well for small teams. Try it out and see if you like it before you make an investment. It's not a perfect solution, but it does a decent job.

This solves for a problem of not wanting to expose our passwords to the Internet. We have a lot of sensitive stuff in our organization and some of our passwords could be better. This lets us securely store them and limits our attack exposure while providing a good solution to our end users and staff.
