"Seamless user experience"

What do you like best?

Twingate is fast, simple, easy to use and always runs in the background without me noticing. It is so much better than the previous VPN my company made me use. The user experience is truly seamless.

I also like the fact that it’s really easy to connect and doesn’t really slow anything down. Previous VPNs I’ve used always slow things down and I would always disconnect frequently. With Twingate I can keep it always on and it’s fast and doesn’t require me to constantly connect and disconnect.

What do you dislike?

Nothing really because Twingate gives me access to the applications I need access to. One thing is that I’m curious if they will be releasing more features. It seems to solve the secure access use case really well but I’d like to see more product features over time.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Twingate gives me access to applications like Tableau while I am working remotely. It’s an awesome tool for remote work because it integrates with Okta and it works seamlessly. From a benefits standpoint I think the most tangible benefit is speed as it saves me time to get access to applications like Tableau and now that everyone is working from home, time is precious and I am grateful for Twingate.

"Zero trust framework companies can actually implement"

What do you like best?

As an IT team, we need to be able to satisfy the ease of use requirement, even for remote access security solutions. Through their lightweight client, Twingate has accomplished delivering on a seamless user experience without the traditional headaches involved with legacy VPN solutions. Their one-click connection to the network is easy yet provides secure, encrypted access to our most valuable corporate resources.

What do you dislike?

I’d like to see more full tunnel capabilities but the Twingate team is working on this as we speak. Their split tunnel architecture ensures top notch performance (even when connecting to a video call) and so their focus on performance while delivering full tunnel capabilities will be great to experience.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Deployment of security tools is difficult for IT teams to manage, but Twingate’s focus on easy end user adoption has made securing corporate resources an easy change management exercise. We can sleep easy at night knowing that we’ve adopted a least-privileged access model without the headache of end user complaints

"Finally good and easy to use VPN solution"

What do you like best?

Absolutely loving them for Google Login and super simple client. For small companies when you don't have SSO, and don't want to manage separate vpn users, its a must have.

Also it was super easy to deploy and start using them

They also have good api, so you can manage resources with automation

What do you dislike?

Nothing comes in mind so far. We started with them pretty early, documentation on that time wasn't as polished as it is now, but Twingate team was very helpful, so everything went smoothly

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Access to private AWS infrastructure (including private EKS) for a small development team from different countries.

"Twingate is a major improvement over our previous VPN solution"

What do you like best?

Twingate allowed us to very easily move to a model of zero-trust networking and drop our previous OpenVPN-based solution entirely. We have now removed all instances in our private network with public IP addresses and our attack surface has been greatly reduced.

Setting it up was as simple as running their Docker image in all of the private networks that we want to allow restricted access to.

We quickly configured multiple different user groups within the Twingate admin panel and were able to restrict access to a subset of resources within each of our networks, per-group. For example, we created a "Business Analyst" group that only had access to our data warehouse, and a "Data Engineer" group that had access to the data warehouse and a couple of other resources to support that system. This level of granularity would have been much harder to accomplish using a tool like OpenVPN.

Installation of the Twingate was incredibly simple - the client is easily downloaded and configured for Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Authentication is linked to our GSuite account. This means we no longer have to create new VPN users when we onboard an employee, and it also means that access is immediately revoked when an employee leaves the organization is removed from GSuite.

There are still some features we haven't taken advantage of, like adding MFA when SSHing into a production instance, but we look forward to exploring these features as we build out the integration further.

What do you dislike?

One downside of Twingate is that the upfront cost is expensive than our previous solution (OpenVPN). However, with OpenVPN, we were running it ourselves on our 2 EC2 instances and had to manage and maintain those servers. Despite the higher upfront cost, we decided to switch to Twingate anyway because we felt like we were getting a lot more value.

Another downside is that we're now trusting another company with an incredibly important part of our infrastructure. If Twingate goes down, employees won't be able to access resources in our private networks. This is a risk we're willing to take, and we know that Twingate takes it seriously as well.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Twingate has allowed us to very quickly give employees access to remote, private resources, and secure those resources based on different access-levels within our organization.

Since setting it up, we've saved time with each new onboarded employee, and have decreased the overall access each employee has to different parts of our infrastructure.

"We dropped our corporate VPN for Twingate and there is no going back!"

What do you like best?

We switched from corporate VPN to Twingate in 24hrs for our 300 people organization across 3 continents. So ease of deployment is definitely way up there. We kept the VPN as a backup for a while in case there were access issues but never had to use it (reliability - check!). Our international teams had much faster access to AWS and other cloud resources as the access didn't have to go through a single corporate choke point (speed!). Unlike VPNs there is no public attack surface (Security)

What do you dislike?

- Would love access control at the port level

- Would like to see better visualization/analytics in the dashboard

I hear those enhancements are in the future releases.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- Eliminates public attack surfaces

- Granular least-privilege access

- Easy to deploy & manage

- Fast and Reliable
