Extremely Disappointed
PROS & CONS
What are the best aspects of this product?
We selected this product because it was supposed to easily integrate with Sharepoint, and also because it was supposed to be easily customizable to our company's needs.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
-Our CMS is extremely glitchy and unreliable. We have needed to do several "workarounds" because our issues could not be fixed.
-The Sharepoint/Unily syncing was very difficult and eventually we had to do a workaround that involved cutting some communication between the two platforms.
-Unily did not seem to have Sharepoint expertise and also was not very willing to help us with our syncing issues.
-I have encountered new issues with very basic functionalities every week that I have used this product.
What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?
-Less bugs and more reliability.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Since implementing our intranet, we have been able to communicate better on news and important updates.

"Extremely Glitchy!"
What do you like best?
We liked that the company offered a CMS product that was supposed to easily connect with Sharepoint and other Microsoft applications.
What do you dislike?
Our CMS has been extremely unreliable. We have had several issues take weeks to figure out. Unily does not appear to have the expertise in syncing with Sharepoint. Other seemingly simple issues -- regarding functionality that the site is supposed to have -- often take weeks to resolve. As a smaller company, we wondered if perhaps the problems we experienced with their product were prioritized behind larger clients. We delayed our launch for two months due to technical issues with Unily, and we feel the issues could have been resolved much more quickly if we were a priority.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd be very hesitant to use this company.

Now that our site is finally live, we are able to share the company intranet with all employees. We are already finding it to be a fun and helpful communication tool. When it works, that is.

A world class platform
We chose the Unily platform because it offered a much more user friendly interface that off-the-shelf sharepoint and is clearly designed around user experience. In addition to the social features and flexibility, the relative ease of implementing for wider audiences than our O365 users made it a clear winner.We implemented with a very, very small team client side, and were well supported by Unily, with a dedicated client success manager and for the implementation period a consultant who worked with us to deliver a product quickly, allowing us to roll out more features as our users got used to it.It's platform that allows you to encourage a community of content providers and the flexibility to shape it as you see fit. We replaced our intranet at a time we were rolling out O365, Unily was the perfect platform to bring together all that extra functionality in a way that users find easy to access and understand.Ongoing support has been superb, regular reviews, an on-call CSM and a very responsive support team should it be needed. As a communications professional I wish I'd had this platform in many of my previous roles, it's truly world class.

What do you like best?
It's so easy to use, from the point of view of a front end user; a really intuitive platform.
There's a multitude of easy to use (and move) widgets to create really engaging pages.
The apps & tools area ensures that employees go to the intranet first to find their other applications.
Powerful search functionality.
What do you dislike?
Metadata - the platform relies on this for drop down lists and tagging content, so I spent days creating lists.changes need to be done manually. These don't automatically sort alphabetically so this has to be done manually, which is time consuming.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Improves collaboration and communication in an organization through a large platform .makes it easier to transfer information and handles a large volume of people .
