Webhose is a nice tool for searching data in website and forums. Very easy to use it, and simple to implement it in different programing languages.

Their coverage of the sources is the best in the market but sometimes the content of some blogs is not very accurate, surely the problem is due to the structure of the sites, but still creates extra maintenance work. However, the same problem is present on all services

We are examining political representation in Israel, that is, how citizens are being represented among media outlets and politicians. Therefore, we use Webhose in order to cover Israeli news outlets throughout the last 3 election periods. After collecting the data, we analyze its content by using computational methods for detecting patterns of representation: political identities, substantive policies, formalistic democratic processes etc.

Getting access to data over time without having to scrape it. We needed to run analysis over the data and had attempted to create crawlers to access the data even using other services. The ease of just entering the URL and downloading was great.
