"2 years collaboration with Xplenty"
What do you like best?
Clear UI, easy to use and implement. The number of ETL functionnalities are very impressive and the amount of connecter to media or more generic data sources is one of the best in the market. It's also very easy to maintain overtime all the process you develop.
What do you dislike?
We face some issue on scalability. We manage thousands of accounts (media platforms) for our clients and we had our fare share of scalability problem.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Xplenty is a very strong SaaS ETL solution. It cover all the basic ETL functionnalities and help you manage easily small dataset to any big data solution.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Mainly API connection to media platforms. Maintaining these API are really complex and time consuming (Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram, snapchat, LinkedIn, ...) are updated on a quaterly basis. Xplenty solve almost all our maintenance issue throught their connector.

"XPlenty is an intuitive ETL platform that does the basics and can handle a lot of complex stuff too."
What do you like best?
? intuitive drag-and-drop interface
? ability to connect to REST APIs
? support for paginated API requests
? can parse nested JSON objects
? responsive support team
? easy to schedule jobs
? easy to manage data source & destination connections
? ability to add notes to dataflows
? ability to set variables within dataflows
? ability to import/export JSON within dataflows
What do you dislike?
? error reporting isn't intuitive - you sometimes have to sift through lots of text in an error log in order to pinpoint the problem
? could have more native connectors built
? would be nice to see preview results of each transformation step in dataflow
? formatting date fields can be challenging and require a bit of trial and error
? versioning not available by default. Make sure to request that this is enabled.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
???? Take advantage of the trial period. Have a couple of concrete use cases - at least one simple one and one complex one.
???? Lean on the support team for assistance - they answer at all hours of day & night.
???? Try to have an understanding of how often you need data to refresh as that will likely impact pricing.
???? ALWAYS use the sandbox VM clusters when developing pipelines, and reserve your production cluster hours for your scheduled jobs.
???? Use the X-Console to test formulas within transformations.
???? Request that versioning and any new native connectors are reflected within your account
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
I build dashboards for clients, and that often involves pulling data from disparate sources. XPlenty has allowed my company to build pipelines to automate the extraction & transformation of this data so that we can load it into a database and visualize it. Before XPlenty, we spent over a hundred hours per month on reporting where we'd combine data from Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Microsoft Bing Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Analytics, CallRail, Hubspot, database exports, and various other sources. With XPlenty, we have created hundreds of pipelines that automatically process and send data to our cloud data warehouse so it can be visualized and analyzed. This has not only given us a full 24 hours of productivity each week, but also allowed us to create much more meaningful visuals for analysis.

What do you dislike?
could use better documentation with more examples
Recommendations to others considering the product:
draw out your ideal inputs/outputs in a flow chart
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Xplenty is my go-to ETL - Solid SaaS offering backed up by great people"
What do you like best?
Easy and intuitive UI, great and current documentation. The Xplenty Support team is pretty awesome, too!
What do you dislike?
Really wish there was a Google Drive Source Connector.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Embrace the people and give it a good honest and complete tire kicking. You'll be rewarded for your efforts.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Solving for a multitude of ETL needs from CSV parsing for multiple clients to working with somewhat standard APIs along with doing really strange things like using GraphQL endpoints to pull bulk data then filter like crazy.

"A great tool for developing data processing"
What do you like best?
The tool is very easy to use, and does not require experts to use. Anyone with some basic knowledge in data manipulation (and business knowledge) can use it. The UI is simple, easy and clear. The support is GREAT!! we asked for a new connector and it was ready in less than a month.
What do you dislike?
We did not have any issues. If you need to tune performance, you might need someone with more technical knowledge (but this is the same as in any tool).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool to use. We do not use it for Big Data, but for our use it is great. They have great service!
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We use Xplenty to enable our business users to create data processes for their own use (like query DWH and export data to Salesforce). It is very quick and has good monitoring.
