About Company

YouMail is a visual voicemail application that allows users to listen to, view, and organize their voicemail messages across multiple devices. It also has features to prevent robocalls and offers a custom manual call blocking option. With YouMail’s caller ID identification feature, users can find out the identity of unknown missed calls. Additionally, enterprises or individual professionals can use personalized voicemail greetings recorded in their own voice. As a premium member of the application, users can protect their privacy with a secondary phone number which they can forward to voicemail directly. Moreover, YouMail appears with a feature-enriched auto-attendant option covering metrics like unlimited call routing, call forwarding, and extensions. The application offers a unified voicemail inbox for multiple integrated numbers, helping users never miss out on any important messages. Auto-replies, free conference calls, etc., are other highlights offered by the same.

YouMail good at blocking, not good at contact synching

YouMail was very good at blocking robocalls. Five stars for that. The contacts part of the app didn't sync well with my Samsung S9 Android phone. If I deleted a contact in my phone YouMail wouldn't delete it - I had to go in and manually delete it.Support was poor for the free version - no chat available until you bought the paid version.

"Permanently hijacked my call forwarding and voicemail"

What do you like best?

I installed this app a year ago on an old phone to screen spam calls. It does that. But Google call screener is better. Otherwise, it's nothing special and not worth the risk of it breaking your call forwarding (see below).

What do you dislike?

I strongly advise against installing this app. YouMail hijacked my voicemail forwarding. I've run the MMI codes, followed Youmail's deactivation instructions, spent a couple hours on the phone with T-Mobile troubleshooting. I cannot get my vm back even after I got a new phone (which YouMail was never even installed on). I'm missing calls and not getting messages, and I'm afraid now I might need to change my number. This has become a huge ongoing problem for me, one that YouMail seems unable to resolve.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Don't.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I haven't realized any benefits. The call screening was nice until I got a phone with Google call screener, now I no longer need it. Unfortunately, even after getting the new phone (which I never installed YouMail on) I can't get it to stop forwarding calls to my YouMail inbox, despite running MMI codes and deleting my account as instructed by YouMail.

"Don not get this App"

What do you like best?

It sounded very good to have robocalls decreased or eliminated

What do you dislike?

Youmail was more annoying than robocalls. There are frequent messages to upgrade and more importantly, messages from family and friends had to be retrieved via my email and the message callers received was robotic and not at all welcoming.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

None

"Very tricky to use"

What do you like best?

It’s interesting as a novelty software, but not necessary as a business utility.

What do you dislike?

It’s unable to be used on certain carriers, and they make it very difficult to setup.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

None at the moment.

"Out of Date UI with poor customer support."

What do you like best?

Automated attendant that greets callers by their name.

What do you dislike?

User interface is tired. Lack of consistency between web and app design.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

None really. When it works sending voice to text to email is nice because it can be forwarded.
